Ryan Bohl is a senior Middle East and North Africa analyst at risk intelligence firm RANE, where he forecasts political, security, and economic geopolitical risks and trends across the Gulf, the Levant, and Iran. He is a recurring source for the Associated Press, AFP, TRT World, Anadolu, and NPR; a guest analyst on Bloomberg Television and CNBC; and codirector of the podcast “Essential Geopolitics.” His writing has appeared in TIME, which commissioned his 2019 TIME 100 profile of Mohammed bin Zayed, as well as The National Interest, New Lines, and World Politics Review. He taught in Abu Dhabi’s state schools and lives outside Philadelphia.
