Rachel Ziemba is an adjunct senior fellow at the Center for a New American Security. Her research focuses on the interlinkages between economics, finance, and security issues. She also serves as a strategic advisor at Alpha Z Advisors, an equity futures fund, and is the founder of Ziemba Insights, a macroeconomic research firm that focuses on connecting policy and macro risks for emerging market investors. Ziemba previously served as head of emerging and frontier markets and co-head of research at Roubini Global Economics, a global macro strategy and country risk firm. Before that, she worked for the Canadian International Development Agency in Cairo, Egypt and the International Development Research Centre in Ottawa, Canada on development economic issues. Ziemba holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Chicago with honors, and a Master of Philosophy in international relations, specializing in international political economy, from St Antony’s College at Oxford University.
