Abdulaziz Al Sager

Founder and Chair of the Gulf Research Center

Abdulaziz Al Sager is the chairman and founder of the Gulf Research Center. Sager is also the president of Sager Group Holding in Saudi Arabia, which is active in the fields of information technology, aviation services, and investments. Sager is a member of the Makkah Province Council and serves on the advisory board to various organizations.  

He has a special interest in Gulf strategic issues and is a regular contributor and commentator in international and regional media. His recent publications include: “Political Opposition in Saudi Arabia” in Saudi Arabia in the Balance: Political Economy, Society, Foreign Affairs, edited by Paul Aarts and Gerd Nonneman (London: Hurst & Company, 2005) and “Why for All Its Problems, the EU is Still a Model for the Arab World,” (Europe’s World, No. 14, Spring 2010). Sager holds a PhD in politics and international relations from Lancaster University and a master’s from the University of Kent in the United Kingdom.
