The Arts and Culture Sectors in the Gulf: Reimagining the Future in the Midst of a Pandemic

On April 29, AGSIW hosted a panel discussion on how the arts and culture sectors in the Gulf are adapting to a new reality.

Date

Apr 29, 2020

About the event

With most of the Gulf Arab countries under lockdown due to the coronavirus pandemic, how are the arts and culture sectors in the Gulf adapting to this new reality? What role are cultural institutions playing in preserving the artistic scene and supporting local artists? How are they continuing to engage with the public at a moment when museums and galleries are shuttered? Looking ahead, will the experience of this pandemic reshape the thinking of artists and institutions, encouraging the creation of more resilient business models that will ensure these sectors thrive in the face of similar challenges in the future?
