Charles Phillips

Charles Phillips is an independent consultant specializing in sustainable development in Saudi Arabia. He advises international clean energy and sustainability companies on expanding into Saudi Arabia and the Gulf Cooperation Council states. His work focuses on climate policy, sustainable transportation, cultural heritage, tourism, and gigaprojects.

Phillips holds an MPhil in modern Middle Eastern studies from the University of Oxford, where his research focused on Saudi Arabia’s climate change policy and economic diversification. He is an advisor to the United Nations Global Compact in Saudi Arabia and an associate at Aeon Collective, a Saudi nongovernmental organization dedicated to sustainable development and planetary repair.

Based between Riyadh and Oxford, Phillips regularly moderates sustainability-focused conferences and has worked across the Middle East, Africa, and China.
