
Mutea Dammaj
Former Secretary General of Yemen’s Cabinet and Senior Advisor to the Prime Minister
Mutea Dammaj served as secretary general of the Cabinet of Yemen from 2021-24, where he led crisis management efforts and coordinated key government policies during a critical period of national instability. Prior to that, he was a senior political advisor to the prime minister of Yemen from 2018-21, advising on governance, negotiation strategy, and interagency coordination. From 2014-18, he was a member of the National Committee for Monitoring the Implementation of the National Dialogue Conference Outcomes, supporting efforts to operationalize the transitional framework agreed upon during Yemen’s United Nations-sponsored National Dialogue Conference (2013-14), in which he also served as a delegate. Throughout his public service, Dammaj has worked to build consensus among Yemeni political factions and strengthen Yemen’s engagement with regional and international stakeholders. With deep experience in public policy and regional diplomacy, he brings a valuable perspective on the internal challenges facing the Yemeni government and its engagement with international and Gulf partners.
