
Hoda Youssef
Lead Economist for Economic Policy, World Bank
Hoda Youssef is the lead economist for economic policy at the World Bank, covering the Gulf Cooperation Council countries. In this role, she oversees and leads the preparation and implementation of the GCC economic program, ensuring smooth collaboration with senior government officials, development partners, and other stakeholders and technical quality assurance and enhancement of the work delivered. Prior to joining the GCC team, she covered other Middle East and North Africa countries, including Egypt, Jordan, Algeria, and Yemen, and led core analytical work on a wide range of macrofiscal, private sector, and structural reforms. Youssef also led the delivery of large budget support operations and technical assistance to governments. She holds a PhD in economics from Sciences Po Paris, France. She speaks English, French, and Arabic.
