Abdulla Almarzooqi

Research Associate, AGSI

Abdulla Almarzooqi is a research associate at the Arab Gulf States Institute. His research interests include trade, Ottoman legacy, historiography, geopolitics, and the modern Gulf. He holds an MA in Middle Eastern studies from Harvard University and a BA from NYU Abu Dhabi, where he majored in business and minored in Middle Eastern studies, art history, and economics. At NYU Abu Dhabi, he co-founded the university’s first student-led Arabic publication, Alnakheel Magazine. At Harvard, he served as a research assistant in the Department of History, working on the history of education and private property in the Gulf. He speaks Arabic, English, Turkish, and basic French. He was born and raised in Dubai.
