Jumanah Abbas

Jumanah Abbas is an architect, a writer, and a researcher. She received her master’s degree in critical, curatorial, and conceptual practice from Columbia University (2020) and her undergraduate degree in architecture from American University of Sharjah (2018). Abbas works through collective collaborations with institutes, regional organizations, and universities, including the “Mapping Memories of Resistance: The Untold Story of the Occupation of the Golan Heights” project in collaboration with the London School of Economics, Birzeit University, and Al Marsad, Arab Human Rights Center in the Golan Heights. She is also working on the upcoming Qatar Museums’ Quadrennial project, a multisite exhibition opening in 2024. Her upcoming publication in collaboration with the Palestinian Museum is about mapping maritime borderlands through the perspective of Palestinian fishers.
