
Omar H. Rahman
Former Research Analyst
Omar H. Rahman is a former research analyst at the Arab Gulf States Institute in Washington. He is a journalist and political analyst with nine years of domestic and international reporting experience, including four years based in the Middle East. Rahman was previously an editor at World Politics Review in New York. Prior to that, he covered energy markets in Dubai and New York for Argus Media. His writing on the Middle East has been published in Foreign Policy, PBS NewsHour, The Guardian, Rolling Stone, VICE, Quartz, Al Jazeera English, Asharq Al-Awsat’s The Majalla, and The National, among others.
Rahman holds a master’s degree in politics and global affairs from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism and a bachelor’s degree in foreign affairs from the University of Virginia.
He will begin a visiting fellowship in January 2019 at the Brookings Institution’s Doha Center, where he will be writing a book.
