Hatem Alzahrani is an awarded poet, critic, and academic specializing in Arabic culture and literature. He holds an MA in Near Eastern studies from Yale University (2014) and a PhD in Arabic and Islamic studies from Georgetown University (2019). His decadelong stay in the United States is the central theme of his second poetry collection “Celebrating the Dual at Yale.”
Alzahrani also works as an advisor for international cultural relations, collaborating with various cultural institutions on initiatives that aim to showcase the distinctive culture of the Arabian Peninsula and its modern transformations, furnish a more nuanced understanding of it, and build bridges between East and West.
