Ahmed Tabaqchali
Chief Strategist of AFC Iraq Fund, Asia Frontier Capital Limited; Board Member, Arab Bank Iraq
Ahmed Tabaqchali is an experienced capital markets professional with over 25 years of experience in U.S. and Middle East and North African markets and the chief strategist at the Asia Frontier Capital’s Iraq Fund. He is also a visiting fellow at the London School of Economics Middle East Centre, a senior fellow at the Institute of Regional and International Studies at American University of Iraq, Sulaimani, and a nonresident fellow at the Atlantic Council. Additionally, he is a board member of Arab Bank Iraq.
Tabaqchali is a former executive director of NBK Capital, the investment banking arm of the National Bank of Kuwait, managing director and head of international institutional sales at WR Hambrecht + Co, managing director at KeyBanc in London, and director and head of capital markets and institutional sales at Jefferies International in London. He started his career at Dean Witter Reynolds International in London.
Ahmed holds an MSc in mathematics from the University of Oxford in the United Kingdom, a BSc (Hons, 1st class) in mathematics from Victoria University of Wellington in New Zealand and a BSc in Mathematics from the University of Canterbury in New Zealand.
