About the event
In recent years, global energy export flows have undergone significant changes due to geopolitical shifts, technological advances, and the growing urgency of the energy transition. The United States, once a major energy importer, has become a leading exporter of oil and liquefied natural gas. Meanwhile, Russia’s role as a primary gas supplier to Europe diminished dramatically after its invasion of Ukraine and the resulting sanctions. Europe, in response, diversified its energy sources by rapidly increasing LNG imports from the United States, Qatar, and African countries and investing in new infrastructure. Middle Eastern producers, traditionally focused on Western markets, have increasingly targeted Asian economies. These shifts have boosted global energy interdependence and created new trade routes and infrastructure, reshaping markets and long-term strategies around energy production and consumption.
AGSI is pleased to host Majid Jafar, CEO of Crescent Petroleum, in discussion with Roger Diwan, vice president at S&P Global Commodity Insights. Crescent Petroleum is the oldest and largest private oil and gas company in the Middle East, headquartered in the UAE and with over 50 years of experience developing the region’s energy resources, particularly in natural gas where it has been a pioneer.
Breakfast and registration will start at 8:00 am.
This event is in person only. Space is limited, please RSVP by Friday June 13, 2025.
