About the event

AGSIW hosted a virtual private roundtable to discuss Saudi Arabia’s efforts to diversify its economy and attract investments, its presidency of the G-20, recommendations of the T20 group of think tanks, and the outcomes of this year’s G-20 meeting.

Saudi Arabia’s chairmanship of the G-20 summit has provided a unique opportunity for the kingdom to demonstrate global leadership, attract international investment, showcase efforts to diversify its economy, and work to restore its status following a number of reputational blows in recent years. How has Saudi Arabia leveraged its chairmanship to achieve its goals, and how did it shape the summit agenda? How did the T-20’s recommendations inform the summit and Saudi Arabia’s role in it? How did the coronavirus pandemic factor into the G-20’s priorities and agenda? What are the key players trying to accomplish?

This program was convened by invitation only and conducted under the Chatham House Rule. If you are interested in being included in AGSIW’s exclusive events, please contact Raymond Karam, chief program and development officer: raymond.karam@agsiw.org.
