Book Talk: Security Politics in the Gulf Monarchies: Continuity Amid Change

On May 28, AGSIW hosted a discussion on security politics in the Gulf.

Date

May 28, 2024

About the event

In his new book, Security Politics in the Gulf Monarchies: Continuity Amid Change, David B. Roberts explores the forces bolstering and challenging the status quo across the political, social, economic, military, and environmental dimensions of state, society, and stability in the Gulf Arab countries. He examines the six Gulf monarchies Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, Oman, and the United Arab Emirates both individually and holistically, considering their recent histories and contemporary concerns. A wide-ranging, in-person conversation on these issues and more was moderated by AGSIW Senior Resident Scholar Hussein Ibish.
