Mary Casey-Baker

Chief Content Officer and Executive Editor, AGSI

Mary Casey-Baker is the chief content officer and executive editor at the Arab Gulf States Institute. Prior to joining AGSI, she was the assistant director of public affairs at the Project on Middle East Political Science at the George Washington University, assistant editor of the Monkey Cage blog for The Washington Post, assistant editor of Foreign Policy’s Middle East Channel, and editor of FP’s Middle East Daily Brief. She studied Arabic at the George Washington University, where she also earned a Master of Arts in international development studies and conflict resolution. She additionally received a Bachelor of Music from James Madison University with a minor in Spanish. Previously, Casey-Baker worked as an audio mixer at Henninger Media Services where her credits include the Academy Award-nominated documentary “War Dance,” for which she received a Telly Award for sound design, as well as programming for the History Channel, National Geographic Channel, and Discovery Channel. Her work in sound design on National Geographic Explorer documentaries received Emmy Awards in 2005 and 2006.
