About the event

Book cover of The UAE after the Arab Spring: Strategy for Survival

In his book The UAE after the Arab Spring: Strategy for Survival, Khalifa Al Suwaidi examines how the United Arab Emirates reacted to the waves of regional unrest during the Arab Spring. The book argues that the UAE leadership encouraged a new national identity and espoused a proactive foreign policy as a response to the changing domestic and regional environment. In this essential publication, Al Suwaidi sheds light on the transformation of the UAE from a quietist state to an assertive regional power.
