AGSIW_US UAE Business Council_LogosThe Arab Gulf States Institute in Washington and the U.S.-U.A.E. Business Council were pleased to host a webinar featuring Mariam bint Mohammed Saeed Hareb Almheiri, UAE minister of state for food security.

Appointed to the position of minister of state for food security in October 2017, Almheiri oversees the United Arab Emirates’ Food Security Strategy, launched in November 2018 to ensure access to safe, nutritious, and sufficient food all year round.

Almheiri will discuss the effect of the coronavirus pandemic on global food security, the need for innovative solutions to feed the world in times of crisis, and the UAE’s greater food security strategy. She will also discuss opportunities for partnership with U.S. companies.

After brief introductory remarks, the U.S.-U.A.E. Business Council and AGSIW will moderate a Q&A with H.E. Mariam Almheiri. In advance of the call, please submit any recommendations or suggestions for topics to Mary Zuccarello at mzuccarello@usuaebusiness.org before the end of the day on Friday May 16.
